4000kmで2回目のエンジンオイルとオイルフィルター交換です
前回フィルター外した時にエキマニにオイルがかかって掃除がめんどうだったのでビニールを被せておきました
冷えてからじゃないとビニールが溶けて大変な事になるので注意⚠️
フィルター交換ありで2.6L
左側カウル外して気がついたんですけどオイル漏れが！ 辿って行くとヘッドカバー(タペットカバー)のパッキンから漏れてます…
ヘッドガスケットじゃなくてよかった
カワサキプラザに電話したら保証でやれると言う事で例の如く一回見せてから後日入庫という時間のかかる流れです。
自分でやった方が随分早いが液体パッキン使うので面倒なので保証修理を選択。
25Rの時は色々不具合ありましたけど、4Rはこれが初めての不具合です。
4Rはヘッドカバーのオイル漏れが多く発生してるとサービスの方が言ってました。
カワサキ車は細かいところで必ず何かありますね💦 ホンダ車に3台乗りましたけど不具合ゼロでしたので頑張って欲しいですね あと少しって感じですから。
いや、良いんですよ、許容してますから責めるつもりは毛頭ないですよ！

This was my second engine oil and oil filter change at 4,000 km.
Last time, when I removed the filter, oil spilled onto the exhaust headers and cleaning it was a pain, so this time I covered them with plastic beforehand.
Be careful though — if the engine isn’t completely cool, the plastic can melt and cause a real mess ⚠️
Oil capacity with filter change: 2.6 L.
After removing the left-side fairing, I noticed an oil leak!
Tracing it back, it was leaking from the head cover (tappet cover) gasket…
Glad it wasn’t the head gasket.
I called Kawasaki Plaza and they said it can be handled under warranty, but as usual, I have to show them first and then bring it in again later — the typical time-consuming process.
Doing it myself would be much faster, but since it requires liquid gasket, it’s a bit of a hassle, so I chose the warranty repair.
I had various issues with the 25R, but this is the first problem with the 4R.
The service staff mentioned that oil leaks from the head cover are fairly common on the 4R.
Kawasaki bikes always seem to have some small issues here and there 💦
I owned three Hondas before and had zero problems, so I hope Kawasaki keeps improving — it feels like they’re almost there.
That said, it’s fine. I accept it, and I have absolutely no intention of blaming them!
